Druids Defined: A Reconstructionist Druid's Commentary
Modern Druidry has put a completely new spin on exactly what a Druid is today. Because of the new aged movement and the combined restoration of Paganism started in the early 1900s, the way Druids are viewed today has been drastically changed from what Druids were in the ancient Celtic culture. Many people dont seem to understand that the new aged view of a Druid as a simple nature loving spiritualist has been perpetuated by the Neo-Druidic…

Another interesting question posed to me. This comes from a Yahoo group specifically focusing on the Morrigan (Irish Goddess of War, Lust and Death). Questions like this in a group that is, in essense, dedicated to war always makes me raise my eyebrow in confusion.
Question to me:
May I ask how you incorporate physical "warriorness" in your life this day and age?
And what would you say to someone who was called to this path who is not so into violence, let alone combat. there is little…

After the "physical warriorness" post found earlier in my blog I received a very interesting email from the person who originally asked the question and I think we had a great conversation. I pointed out that perhaps they have been called by the Morrigan for something that has yet to happen that may change their perspective on war. This person actually admitted that to be a possibility and I think we ended our conversation with a decent level of understanding on both sides.
Here comes th…

After doing some research I came across this poem and I consider it Pagan relevant. Enjoy!
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint in the snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.
-Att…

I was asked this question on a different forum when I found out that I was not having a discussion with a person on the same path, but simply an outsider with a passing fancy. The below is my response to his question.
Again, why should it matter what path I'm on? Is the information/truth different then?
When the facts intertwine with the faith - yes, the "truth" is different. Those attempting to find peace through the "facts" of their faith do so in a different manner than those who are…

I met a Druid today who spoke about love, but disrepected the dead. "He's dead, what does he care?"
I met a Druid today who spoke about knowledge and proclaimed that books are worthless.
I met a Druid today who spoke about respect and told me "one day I would understand" so high in their pedestal of arrogance.
I met a Druid today who spoke about honor and spoke down about American Soldiers. "Of course I was never in the military."
I met a Druid today who spoke about wisdom and rambled on and…

On Raven's Wings
by Ominique
Above the ancient earthen floor,
Among the cloud enshrouded sky,
On raven's wings, I fly.
Through fog of time and temperament,
Amidst the old forgotten lore,
On raven's wings, I soar.
And to the noisesome battlefield
Where death makes song with clanging note,
On raven's wings, I float.
Then swoop I down to meet my foes,
Turn, swoop once more from cloudy height,
On raven's wings, I fight.
And when the battlefield is still
But for the whispered wind's exhale,
Acro…

The Druid Chronicles
From Lugodoc's Guide to Druids:
In an attempt to clear very muddied waters, below I have collected ever word written down about the druids by the classical writers of chronicals up to A.D. 350. Everything written after this date is pure speculation. All bold emphasis is by this author.
330 BC – Aristotle's Treatise on Magic – Lost, possibly apocryphal, but referred to by Diogenes Laertius over 550 years later.
200 BC - Sotion of Alexandria's Succession of Philosophers -…

This was in response to being asked about my Truth and I must admit, though I was offended that another "Druid" was asking me to publically reveal my "Truth" my eventual rambling to a Druid I actually respect brought about this explanation and I wanted to share.
My Truth isn't simply one truth in one thing. My truths are relevant to any number of subjects, but they may only spawn from one specific belief about life and happiness revealed to me through my studies, practice, communing with…

Why do non-Reconstructionists assume that those of us that know our history don't acknowledge the spiritual? They assume that we don't spend time in nature, or honor the festivals, don't have altars or commune with the Gods or ancestors daily because we stick to scholastics and ask for references in online conversations.
The basics of magic(k) do come from books. Magick is the use of energy...which is pure Laws of Thermodynamics and Quantum Physics. However, I agree...books can only teach you t…

I love meeting new people, the way I look at it is no one is a stranger, they're just friend's I haven't met yet. This is especially fun for me as I'm pretty much confined to the house. I've had four back surgeries and another coming up in the near future and I don't drive anymore due to the surgeries and this is a wonderful way to "travel" and meet great people!!!!.

The fight goes on at Tara
